THE SOUTHERN COLORADO MUSTANGS JUST FINISHED A 3-TEAM SCRIMMAGE WITH THE DENVER TITANS AND THE BROOMFIELD DAWGS. THE MUSTANGS LOOKED VERY GOOD FOR THERE FIRST ACTION OF THE 2008 SEASON....
Quarterback Fred Kiger started things off with a 25 yard touchdown pass to CFC vet Juan Gallegos. Cornerback Nate Rice started off the scoring for the Mustangs seamless defense when he returned an interception. Kiger would throw his second TD pass to CFC rookie wide receiver Andrew Goggans who caught his first of many touchdown passes this year. Veteran team captain Rick Smith got into the mix with an interception of his own. Smith, along with a couple of Deion Sanders like moves was able to return his first pick all the way. Than to finish a great day off, Offensive Lineman Scott Clark got to try out his skills on the defensive side of the ball and finished the scrimmage with his first career interception. Way to go Scott. It was a good day for the Mustangs and our thanks to the Denver Titans for inviting us to such a well planned event. We will be hosting the Denver Titans on May 17th at Garry Berry Stadium @ 7:00pm for the Mustangs Pre-Season finale. The Mustangs travel to Denver to play the Colorado Cobras on May 10th. We are excited to see some fans come out and support us for the 2008 season. See you soon.
